Dan Acheson

Dan’s love for Africa dates back to a childhood idolization of long distance runners. Since those early days he has been lucky enough to experience the wonders of East Africa on three occasions. His first two trips covered 18 months & were spent volunteering at Lewa Children’s Home in Eldoret, Kenya. Initially he was involved with the planning & supervision of additional accommodation for the home. During the course of his stay he also became involved with the children’s welfare & teaching at a nearby school – shaping his subsequent career paths. His third trip was a holiday to Tanzania climbing Kilimanjaro & visiting Zanzibar.

In terms of his professional background & skill set, Dan has a degree in Construction Management as well as postgraduate qualification in teaching. His current role is as a project manager for a regional charity in the UK overseeing the day to day operations of local youth clubs for disabled young people.
